How it works
For commodities stored in tanks and silos, VERIDAPT deploys radar-based level gauges and strain sensors to measure volume or weight, accurately.
Wireless motion detection sensors are easily installed for additional security via alerts and alarms notifying of any breach of sealed access hatches or unauthorized movement of product.
When monitoring stockpiled commodities, we utilise 3D laser scanning and proprietary algorithms to provide millions of points of light that precisely map and measure volume and mass.

Stitching
Joining images from various sensors in different locations and orientations. The colour comes from cameras, merging lidar data and camera data for richer scan.

Filtering
The data inside the relevant bin is then extracted based on algorithms to concentrate on an area of interest.

Removing artefacts
Artefacts that can affect the volume calculation are removed and estimated. E.g. small gaps, or the filling artefact above the pile.

Estimating blind regions
The large gaps in the data where the sensor cannot see are then filled in. This is done by using the visible data to predict the pile shape in the blind regions.

Comparison
Captured data versus blind-spot prediction (at boundaries). The image shows how the system with only one lidar/camera kit can accurately estimate the surface of blind spots.

Estimate volume
The volume of the processed surface is then estimated relative to the ground and the surrounding walls.
